What is global warming? Global Warming, or climate change, is the increase of the average temperature of the Earth believed to be caused by some of today’s productions, that are harmful to the environment.

2. Why do you think that Al Gore doesn’t want to talk about politics? I think he does not want to talk about politics because it is a thing in the past for him and he has decided to move on from it. He has developed a new goal in life and doesn’t see the point of talking about politics in the past.

3. What is “An Inconvenient Truth”? “An Inconvenient Truth” is a documentary that Al Gore created to better spread the awareness of the issue surrounding global warming. It became very popular and caused many people to realize that global warming truly is a real problem and that people need to start reacting now.

4. How did Al Gore tailor his presentation to the Evangelical Christians? What did he add for his audience?

5. When are global warming commercials coming out? Do you think they will help people realize this issue? They will be coming out during this week and yes I think they will help some people realize the truth about global warming

6. How do you feel about the way the Gore family is paying for this? I feel that they are very admirable as a family by putting all their hard work into their goal to help global warming

7. Why do you think Al Gore’s loss of presidency was beneficial to his new hobby? Because this allowed him to focus better on this goal and just that without the pressures from presidency.

8. How do you think that other candidates pick themselves up after a loosing campaign? They try to focus on a new goal as to keep their minds off of their loss.

9. Why do you think he won an Oscar and the Noble Peace Prize for his movie? because his movie was very inspiring and had a very good goal to reach to its viewers

10. How do you feel about the training center that he will be building as an eco-friendly farm? I think that is a great idea and shows how much dedication he really is putting into this work

11 Do you think the Gores were doing the right thing when they bought that house? I think when by this house they were not trying to cause any harm but just did not realize that they were

What did they do to the house after it became an issue? They made the house complete eco friendly using all new high tec products that preserve energy and the environment better

What do you feel is Al Gore’s message? I think Al Gore’s message is that global warming is really a serious matter that should be taken care of sooner rather than later because it will effect our lives and the lives of others in the future. Global Warming is a real thing and we can help to fix it we just have to take the right steps to achieve this and have the right mindset as well

Plagiarism is bad because you are taking credit for someone else’s words and by doing that not learning anything yourself. It is bad representation of who you are and what you know in life. Plagiarism is a very serious matter in a person’s education and can sculpt the way you are looked on upon by teachers or instructors.

Tornado Takes ‘Mrs. Bonnie,’ Animal Lover

In Atlanta Georgia a 130-mph tornado ravaged the farm of Bonnie Turner and her husband. Bonnie Turner, known as “Mrs. Bonnie” to most, was a sweet grandmother, who had a love for all animals and all that was taken away by this tornado. Bonnie died tragically when the tornado winds threw50 feet from her house. Almost all the animals are gone from their donkeys, goats , to there few deer. At least 35 of their dogs have died and 100 are still missing.

Bonnie Turner and her husband Michael, who is in critical condition, were wonderful people and gave their care to many. Bonnie was a retired veterinarian’s assistant and has always had a knack with animals. Many of the dogs are their farm are award winners and just beautiful dogs all in all. Her death is a very sad loss for many or for all those who met her. She had a wonderful spirit that radiated through her happiness and care.

Authorities Arrest Second Suspect in UNC Student Slaying

On Thusday, police arrested a second suspect in association with the death of Eve Carson, student body president of North Carolina University at Chapel Hill. After midnight on Thursday, police surrounded the house of Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr, who surrendered after about four hours. A tip off was giving about Lovette from an anonymous. Lovette is one of two suspect for the murder. Police also arrested Demario James Atwater who resides in Durham on Wednesday.

Surveillance videos were released by the police from an ATM last week and the photographs from them suggest that it could be either of the suspects. In one of the videos there is a young man with a hooded sweatshirt and hat on that may be using of of Carson’s ATM cars. There is an SUV also on footage with what appears to be a shape in back of the car, which could be Carson and the SUV could be Carson’s as well. Police believe it was Lovette who was driving the SUV to the ATM.

The police and all crime investigators are still very hopeful of what is to come from this case and feel they have gained a lot of information as to better find out the true suspect for this case.

Dolphin rescues stranded whales

A dolphin, named Moko by local residents, was said to be seen saving to pygmy sperm whales, one being a mother and the other her calf, who were headed towards death. The two whales were found stranded on Mahia Beach, around 300 miles northeast of the capital Wellington in New Zealand.

Rescue workers had tried numerous times to help the whales get past the sandbar, at which they were stuck, but each time the whales became stranded again. Moko then came up to the two of them and led them about 200 meters along the beach and into a channel out to the open sea.

Many of the rescuers and marine researchers were very impressed by this action saying that it was amazing but believable. One marine mammals expert, Anton van Helden said said the reports of Moko’s rescue were “fantastic” but believable because the dolphins have “a great capacity for altruistic activities.” (Helden) Dolphins are very playful animals and have been known to protect people at sea making them a very important sea animal.

Anton van Helden, a marine mammals expert at New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa Tongarewa, said the reports of Moko’s rescue were “fantastic” but believable because the dolphins have “a great capacity for altruistic activities.”

Endeavour on way to international space station

A shuttle named Endeavour and its crew of seven went into orbit on Tuesday, with what was to be the longest space station trip ever. This would make it a 16-day voyage to build a robot and add a new room to serve as a closet or storage for a future lab.

The shuttle took off from its pad at 2:28 am, making it a rare treat for the last time a shuttle took of at night was in 2006 and only a quarter of usual flights take off in darkness. The trip is also only the second nighttime flight to occur after the Columbia disaster that happened five years ago.

This flight was also multinational with Canada and Japan both taking part. When taking off the site was packed with Canadians and Japanese supporting to major partners of this international space station. The Canadian Space Agency supplied a two- armed robot named Dextre, that would be on board of Endeavour, while the Japanese Space Agency supplied the first part of their massive Kibo lab, which is used for storing tools, experiments, and other spare parts. Both Canada and Japan are being represented also with crew members aboard the shuttle.

After take off the Endeavour only dealt with a few minor problems, that were taken care off and now is continuing its 16 day journey.

Two Slain Students from Georgia Mourned at Services

Eve Carson, a student at North Carolina University, who was even student body president, was found dead on Wednesday morning. Her body found lying on a street about a mile from the campus had been shot numerous times, including a shot to the temple. The search for the murderer is still going on and police have been searching for a man seen using her ATM card. At her memorials students were sad, angry, and distraught about the entire situation, not understanding why anyone would end a life like hers. At the service people spoke about Carson’s wonderful personality saying that she was full of kindness, leadership, and beauty.

Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk, a freshman at Auburn University in Georgia, was also found dead this past week. Her body had been found on Tuesday night on an off-campus road and her car was found burning in the campus parking lot. A man has charged for her murder, and some say for even theft, having taken all their trust away that they resided in a safe place. At Burk’s service, students, family, and friends were mourning the loss of yet another wonderful person whose life was cute short. Many had the same feelings as those who knew Eve Carson. Both deaths were tragic for all who knew them and people are continuing to mourn their deaths.

I am very happy the Giants won the superbowl even though at times they were losing to the Patriots. They played hard through the whole game and it payed off in the end.

What Was Your Reaction or Feelings after the Guest Speaker on Friday?

On Friday, I think the guest speaker was a very inspirational speaker to all of the students. I think he showed us how people can overcome difficulties in their life with courage and hope and how a person can learn to cope with the tragedies in their life. When the world trade center was attacked so many people lost everything to them. The guest speaker showed us how even after a devastation like this, anyone can move forward and begin to live their lives with faith and courage. With the right mindset, you can achieve anything in life it is just up to yo how you use it. I am very thankful I was able to listen to the guest speaker’s speech on career day and I think I learned alot from it.

Winter Break Vacation

This winter break, I did not go anywhere for vacation but I just stayed home with my family and friends. I had a great vacation overall. The day before Christmas Eve my dad’s side of the family came over and I got to see my little cousins. On Christmas Eve, I went to my aunt’s house with some of my cousins on my mom’s side. For Christmas day I went to my grandparent’s house and my entire family from my mom’s side came there too. Each day we exchanged gifts with each other and had a great time spending time with one another.

For New Years I went to my aunt’s house and then I went to my friends house. New Years was alot of fun for me also. For the New Year 2008, as a resolution, I would like to start eating better and healthier, start being nicer to my sisters, and begin listening to my parents more.
